Creating engaging social media content can be daunting, but with the right tools, it's easier than you think. I use Canva every single day - and there are many other great apps out there. These are some of my favourites:
VSCO
VSCO is a must-have for professional and aspiring social media creators. So whether you're looking to enhance colours in your photos, add a vintage feel, or create a unique look, VSCO has you covered. Bonus: once you’ve made your adjustments, you can save all of those steps as a preset and apply that to all future photos.
InShot
InShot is a great option for making engaging Reels and TikToks. It offers a wide range of video editing tools, including trimming, splitting, and merging videos. It also offers a variety of aspect ratio options, so you can easily create videos optimized for different social media platforms.
AutoCap
If you’re thinking about accessibility with your video content (which you should be doing), this app is a game-changer. AutoCap uses artificial intelligence to generate captions for your videos so anyone can consume them. The captions are pretty accurate, and it’s easy to make quick changes to any errors.
Photoshop Express
I am not good at Photoshop. In fact, I hate it. But the Photoshop Express mobile app is another essential app for social media creators - and so much easier to use than the original desktop Photoshop. I used to love using Photoshop Fix until they discontinued it, and this is a pretty good substitute. You can quickly retouch, filter, and create quick graphics with Photoshop Express. The app is reasonably easy to use and is a lovely option for anyone looking to improve their photo editing skills.
Life Lapse
Last on the list, but one of the first in my heart, is Life Lapse. It’s an excellent tool for creating engaging time-lapse videos. You can control the speed of your time-lapse, add music, and create stop-motion videos (my favourite).
